Doug spent most of his life as a physicist specializing in the high-speed photography of blast waves in air, work that took him to remote locations where large explosive tests were being conducted. He analyzed thousands of images and wrote software to help first responders deal with explosive threats.
Now retired and living on Salt Spring Island, he is taking fewer photographs of more familiar subjects and analyzing them not so much.
