Maritime Life #1
– Lobster Fishery, Nova Scotia
Diana Hayes
These images were shot with my old film camera (Pentax MG) and are part of a series of seven photographs that I captured when visiting the Atlantic Provinces in 1988 while on a book tour.
I lived on the east coast for four years during my childhood and explored Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island each summer on family holidays. I wanted to capture some of that childhood perspective in these images.
Prints are available in small format (12×8 approx.) and the complete Maritime Life series is available as card sets.
The first image was captured on the coast of Nova Scotia, not far from Peggy’s Cove, where the year-round lobster fishery was plentiful.
