Lettuce Leaves is a Cyanotype with three day exposure in the sun of leaves superimposed upon watercolor paper coated with Cyanotype solution that is sensitive to UV (ultraviolet rays). It is a Printing Out Process in that you can actually see the image print out in front of you. I prefer to leave the image out for a long time because plants have lives and it is fascinating to see what happens during an exposure. I like to experiment using the materials I have at home. Like Platinum/Palladium, Cyanotype were basically experiments carried out in UV in the 19th century. Both prints were coated using a special brush.
Lettuce Leaves is an edition of 1/1
