Life on a Bed of Roses

The Pacific Tree Frog (or Pacific Chorus Frog) is a common inhabitant of forests and gardens on Salt Spring Island. I couldn’t resist this photogenic individual well ensconced into a blooming rose for the night. Judging from the dimples left in all the nearby roses, this looked like habitual behaviour. A biologist and environmental scientist by profession, I have a heightened appreciation for the natural world and its photogenic inhabitants.
