The image “Hamilton Beach” is part of the “Salt Spring Stories” series created by Greg Klassen and Andrea Locke. It was exhibited at ArtSpring in August 2017, less than two months before Greg’s death. Andrea plans someday to publish a book based on that show with Greg’s photos and her accompanying narratives.
“Salt Spring Stories” was a twelve-day community celebration of, for and by Salt Spring Island using visual, written and oral storytelling about the people and places of the island.
Stories are central to being human.
Stories are a stepping-stone to truth.
They have the power to inform, and to place in context.
Stories are at the heart of the way
we create and communicate meaning.
